When we neglect our feet long enough we end up with cracked heels. And cracked heels are not very easy to get rid of. Cracked heels are caused by a lack of moisture in our feet or from calluses that have developed from a lack of care. And when cracked heels reach it extremes, we can end up with bleeding, painful to stand on heels. That’s when I recommend seeking a doctor. For other minor cracked heel cases there is a simple and effective routine to get rid of cracked heels. Many of us suffering from cracked heels spend a lot of money on market creams in an effort to soothe those cracked heels. I wonder, how we overlook the common knowledge that dead skin can never be brought back to life. The trick is to get rid of the dry cracked skin first and then moisturize feet.
To achieve smooth heels and soft feet you will require:
Now follow the simple steps to relieve cracked heels.
- Fill a tub with hot water.
- Add salt, soap and squeeze lemon juice in it.
- Now soak your feet in it for 15 minutes or so and let the hot water soften the hard dry skin.
SCRUB AND FILE:
Now scrub and file the softened dry skin as long as you can. Making sure you cover the whole cracked heel and any other dry area on your feet.
Take your feet out of water and brush your whole feet, top and bottom, vigorously to brush off dead skin.
WASH & DRY:
Now wash your feet with warm water and towel dry by patting gently.
Now take a small amount of pure glycerin in hand and massage your feet gently one by one. Keep massaging your feet, taking more glycerin when required. So that blood circulations speeds up and your skin absorbs as much glycerin as possible to relive cracked heels.
Now put on socks to cover your newly relived heels. Make sure you keep your feet covered for two hours minimum.
Repeat this process once a week especially in winter to avoid any further issue of cracked heels. Remember to apply glycerin or any other foot care cream of your choice after shower to avoid cracked heels in future.
